Baggage policy for carry- on baggage of Delta Airlines

Delta Airlines allows one personal item and one carry- on baggage free of charge. The personal item can range from a purse, laptop bag, diaper / baby bag, etc. The policy states clearly that the item of carry- on baggage must not exceed the dimensions of 45 inches, including the handles and wheels of the baggage (if any).

The simple rule is that the carry- on baggage should be able to fit easily in either the overhead space or the space under the seat in front of you. During the time of boarding the flight, if the staff find that there is a lack of space to store your carry- on baggage, they will check your carry- on baggage without further charges at the Delta gate.

Baggage policy of Delta Airlines for military personnel

Military personnel, specifically active duty members of the military, can enjoy special benefits when they choose Delta Airlines for their flights (like last minute flights on Tripbeam). They can avail a personal check- in counter and self- service kiosks. What’s more, they can also carry additional baggage ranging from the sizes of 63 to 80 inches.

Active duty military personnel who are traveling on basic economy tickets are allowed 5 items of checked- in baggage, which can weigh up to 100 pounds each. The military personnel who are booking flights for personal traveling are allowed

  • 2 items of free checked- in baggage, weighing up to 50 pounds each, on a Basic Economy ticket.
  • 3 items of free checked- in baggage, weighing up to 70 pounds each, on a Delta Premium Select ticket.

That’s all for the baggage allowance of Delta Airlines in its baggage policy. Should you need more help regarding flight bookings, feel free to contact us through a message or call.
